Terms of Service

1. The service

LightMoon Cloud collects events from LightMoon instances you connect, shows them in a dashboard, and distributes rules, blocks and bans you configure back to those instances. Security decisions are always made by the library running on your infrastructure.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the service. Keep your password and project keys secret; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and the information you give us must be accurate.

3. Acceptable use

Use the service only to protect systems you own or are authorized to protect. Don't use it to attack, probe or disrupt anyone else's systems, to send data you have no right to send, or to interfere with the service or other customers. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Plans, payment and cancellation

The Hobby plan is free. Paid plans are not on sale yet, and we will not charge you for anything until you choose a paid plan and pay for it through Stripe. When paid plans open, their prices will be listed on the pricing page, and these terms will be updated before anyone can buy one. Plan limits are described on the pricing page. Past a plan's monthly event limit, new events are counted but their details are not stored until the next month; this never affects the protection your instances provide.

5. Your data

You keep all rights to the data your instances send and the rules you write. We use it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy notice. You can export or delete it at any time.

6. Availability

We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. If the service is unreachable, connected instances keep enforcing the last rules they verified.

7. No warranty

No security product stops every attack. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Keep following secure development practice: parameterized queries, output encoding, dependency updates and backups.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time. We may end the service for an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and will give notice where we reasonably can.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we will email account owners at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
